Godzilla Fan Honors The King Of Monsters With LEGO Mask

This year has been a destructively awesome one for Godzilla. The King of Monsters returned to cinemas in Japan after a prolonged hiatus with Shin Godzilla. The film was praised by both fans and critics, and Toho Studios even brought the kaiju flick stateside this fall. Now, one determined Godzilla fan from Japan has taken his celebration to a whole new level using tons of LEGOs.

Twitter user @Guilsogue has shared a rather impressive image of a Godzilla mask he made entirely out of LEGO blocks. The formidable build uses primarily black and red LEGOs to construct the behemoth's head, and it even uses pointed white LEGOs to stand in for teeth. The mask can be seen sitting snuggly on the user's shoulders as he wears it, and one has to wonder just how heavy the painstaking build is.

Guilsogue's translated tweet gives a little more information about the project. The LEGO build shows Godzilla's fourth from from Shin Godzilla. Sadly, it doesn't seem like the user included any vocal tricks to make the helmet utter Godzilla's famous roar, but the fans might be packing an impressive imitation that we've not heard yet.

If you want to pursue your own Godzilla build, then you will have to go it alone for now. The user hasn't announced any plans to release his instructions for the project, but that might change. U.S. fans will have to base their own builds off Shin Godzilla still and promos for now. The blockbuster has yet to hit Blu-ray or DVD stateside and likely won't until late 2017 at the soonest. In Japan, the home release will hit shelves in March 22nd.

Hopefully, if fans have the ability to pause, rewind, and slow down footage, then they will be able to make their own impressive LEGO builds themselves.

In Shin Godzilla, it's a peaceful day in Japan when a strange fountain of water erupts in the bay, causing panic to spread among government officials. At first, they suspect only volcanic activity, but one young executive dares to wonder if it may be something different… something alive. His worst nightmare comes to life when a massive, gilled monster emerges from the deep and begins tearing through the city, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. As the government scrambles to save the citizens, a rag-tag team of volunteers cuts through a web of red tape to uncover the monster's weakness and its mysterious ties to a foreign superpower. But time is not on their side—the greatest catastrophe to ever befall the world is about to evolve right before their very eyes.
