These new movies make fans wonder – what other anime could be getting some love from the industry? There are so many beloved shows out there, and so much opportunity for new film franchises.
Sure, Dragon Ball Z was a huge flop when it was made into a movie, but the 2017 productions are both garnering high hopes. If now is the time for Hollywood to go all in on anime, these are five shows we think should be given a chance.
One Punch Man
One Punch Man is one of the most popular anime on the planet, so a live action movie totally seems like a possibility.
On top of the show’s success, superhero movies are all the rage in Hollywood. Even the films in the genre that receive poor reviews win multiple weekends a the box office.
One Punch Man‘s satire of Western culture would make his movie a hit in the US, as well as across the globe.

Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop was the first anime title to broadcast on Adult Swim, so its popularity with American audiences is definitely noted.
The epic space opera has become huge at the box office, as films like Star Wars and Guardians Of The Galaxy were massive successes. The more adult-take that Bebop offers could be a breathe of fresh air for sci-fi fans.

Psycho-Pass
If Minority Report got a TV series, and Blade Runner is getting a sequel, why hasn’t Pyscho-Pass had the chance at a Western live-action movie?
The gritty crime drama dips its toes into sci-fi enough that it would set itself apart as a largely original project, and fans would be drawn to that kind of new style.

One Piece
There’s no mistaking it, One Piece is the most popular anime on the air – at least in Japan. It shares that title with Dragon Ball Z and Naruto in the US.
What sets One Piece apart though, is it’s whimsical sense of adventure. The show never takes itself to seriously, and still manages to create memorable and lovable characters year after year.
With hundreds of episodes in the bag, a live action movie has a ton of material to pull from.

Blue Exorcist
The horror-esque anime are getting some love in the world of live action, as Death Note is currently being made into a feature film for Netflix.
if the film is a success, Blue Exorcist would be the perfect follow-up. Taking the world of demons one step further, it could begin a deeper dive into anime adaptations.
