Studio Pierrot is most well known for being the studio that brought the world the internationally recognized Naruto anime franchise. It looks like the studio is adapting another popular manga to bring the world another hit anime series. In the most recent Shonen Jump it was revealed that the studio is adapting Yuki Tabata’s popular fantasy manga Black Clover to anime. The Shonen magazine also revealed a first look at the series with a new visual (seen below) as well as the principal staff.

The first episode from the upcoming anime was screened at Jump Festa back in November of last year, and anime fans have be patiently waiting new for the shows release. The confirmed staff includes:

  • Director: Tatsuya Yoshihara
  • Composition: Kazuyuki Fudeyasu
  • Character Design: Itsuko Takeda
  • Sub Character Designer: Kumiko Tokunaga
  • Music: Minako Seki
Black Clover

Black Clover is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine. The manga was first launched on February 16, 2015, and was published in Weekly Shonen Jump’s digital magazine as part of the Jump Start Program. Black Clover is the second series from creator Yuki Tabata, with his first series Hungry Joker, running for 24 chapters back in 2012-2013. Black Clover made its way over to America as however, and an English version has been released by Viz Media, who describes the series below:

“Young Asta was born with no magic ability in a world where magic is everything. In order to prove his strength and keep a promise with his friend, Asta dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the land, the Wizard King!”

Fans will receive more information about the show soon, as it has been announced that the show’s staff will reveal more information at the upcoming “Jump Victory Carnival 2017” event, which takes place in Tokyo on July 22nd and in Osaka on July 29th.
