If you love Naruto and don’t have a Hulu account just yet, then you may want to get signed up. Today, the anime world bid farewell to Naruto Shippuden as the long-running anime came to an end shortly after its 10th birthday. Right now, fans are in mourning as they take a moment to honor Naruto’s legacy, but they will not have to linger for long. Next month, a new anime spin-off about Naruto will take off and focus on the ninja’s eldest child. Boruto: Naruto Next Generation will premiere the first week of April. And, now, Viz Media has made an important announcement about the series.

Yes, that’s right! Viz Media will be rolling out an English simulcast for Boruto. The studio made an announcement today to comfort fans when Naruto Shippuden wrapped. In a press release sent earlier today, Viz wrote, “the first episode of the new series will make its U.S. simulcast premiere on Hulu beginning April 5th, the same day as its premiere in Japan. New episodes will continue to premiere weekly on Wednesdays.”
“We are very excited to announce the acquisition of BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS and know that fans everywhere will be looking forward to the debut of these new episodes,” says Charlene Ingram, VIZ Media’s Senior Manager of Animation Marketing. “The stage is set for intense adventures featuring a fresh cast of ninjas from the Hidden Leaf Village!”
Hulu will have access to Boruto when it first debuts, but Crunchyroll has also announced it will show the series as well. Right now, there is no word on when the latter site will start its screenings, but Crunchyroll did confirm it will air this spring.
