If you are a fan of Naruto, then you know that each of Konoha’s original genin teams had their own personality. Team 8 kept quiet save for Kiba who could win any sort of barking match. Team 7 was as powerful as it was dysfunctional. And, in the case of Team 10, the dynamics of Ino-Shika-Cho continued through the likes of Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru. The latter member could always be trusted to come up with an impressive battle strategy at the last minute. And, now, it looks like one of Shikamaru’s worst habits has passed down to his son.

In the most recent episode of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, fans watched as Shikamaru had a quiet sit-down with his son Shikadai. However, when the pair were confronted with a prying Temari, the father-son duo had the fan same reaction.
The two men exchanged looks with Temari, bemoaning her interruptions by using a familiar phrase. “What a drag,” the both thought, and Temari was quick to cal them out on the thought.
“Both of you were just thinking, “What a drag,” weren’t you?” she asked.
Yes. Yes, they were.
Fans of Naruto will be very familiar with the phrase. In the same way Naruto will say “believe it,” Shikamaru was want to say “What a drag” or even “How troublesome” when the going got rough. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has already shown that Naruto’s son does say his father’s familiar catchphrase. So, for now, fans can only imagine that Sarada will have a glare very similar to that which Sasuke perfected.
Yikes!
