The global video service Crunchyroll announced today that it will be launching a new program this year called 'Powered by Crunchyroll'. The new program is a partnership between Crunchyroll and other conventions. The site commented on the partnership as the following:
"We are happy to announce the ‘Powered by Crunchyroll’ program for 2017. The purpose of this program to team up with different conventions around the U.S. to bring extra benefits to Crunchyroll Premium Members & VRV Subscribers, a variety of guests, and additional items for all attendees."
The company will be partnering with some of the biggest conventions such as Anime Boston, Anime NYC, and Anime Weekend Atlanta. Essentially if the convention is part of the program then there will be special perks for members. There is no specifics yet, but it looks to include such as early access passes, and exclusive discounts.
In addition to this announcement, in addition to the announcement about the new program, Crunchyroll also launched a new event and convention webpage.

This is a big move for Crunchyroll, and good news for anime fans in the United States. Current and future subscribers to the anime streaming service will now have more perks and reasons to pay the monthly fee. The company has been working on bringing anime fans together in many ways, by hosting a new convention, and starting Anime Movie Night Events.
