Demon Slayer has been taking over the world since it hit theaters earlier this Summer, and one major executive behind Crunchyroll confirmed that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle won’t be coming to streaming platforms anytime soon. Demon Slayer has been absolutely dominating theaters since it opened this Summer in Japan as it not only became one of the highest grossing anime films in that country’s history, but has since become one of the biggest anime films of all time in the entire world. It’s got such a long tail at the theater, however, that it’s going to be the only way to see it for a while.

Because while there have been a much quicker window from a feature film’s release in theaters to its release on streaming platforms at home, Mitchel Berger, Executive Vice President, Global Commerce (who oversees Crunchyroll’s theatrical releases) spoke to Popverse about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle‘s success in theaters. And surprisingly, the executive confirmed that the new film won’t be streaming until 2026 at the earliest. If you want to see the film, you’re going to need to go to theaters.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie Won’t Be Streaming in 2025

“Go see [Demon Slayer Infinity Castle] in the theater because the theater is the only place youโre going to be able to see this film in 2025,” the executive stated. “If you want to see it, go see it in the theater because thatโs the only place itโs going to be available.” This is undoubtedly a huge surprise as fans had been hoping to see Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle coming to Crunchyroll in the coming months after its run in theaters, but it seems like it’s going to be a much longer wait in that respect.
This decision does make sense for Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, however. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has garnered one of the highest box office performances of the year at the worldwide level, and it’s likely going to get even higher as the film has been gearing up for its release in even more international territories like China. Fans have even shared on social media how they have gone to see the film multiple times, and that’s only increasing those totals even more. It’d be a wild move to stop that momentum now with a streaming release.
When Will Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Be Streaming?

As for when Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle will be making its way to streaming, it seems like a 2026 launch is in the plan for the film. This will likely follow any home media physical release for the film, but hopefully it’s at least by the Spring 2026 window. Given that the second film in the trilogy has yet to confirm its own potential release window as of this time, a longer wait for a streaming release for this first film also makes a lot of sense in that regard.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is not slowing down its run in theaters anytime soon, and it’s going to be a long wait for it to hit smaller screens at home. That means if you have yet to see the new movie for yourself, or want to see it again, heading to theaters is going to be your only option for a while.
