If your father was the creator of Dragon Ball, many would assume you were a fan of the action-packed series. After all, Goku is just the right kind of adorable to make girls fall for him, but Akira Toriyama’s daughter has resisted the urge to fawn. In a previous issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, the iconic artist admitted his daughter never read his work and instead favored another famous manga hero. And, just in case you missed it, Toriyama was glad to share a drawing he did of Gintama‘s lead.

That’s right! Dragon Ball and Gintama have crossed over in a hilarious, unofficial way. The issue of Weekly Shonen Jump housed a sketch drawn by Toriyama of both Goku and the hero Sakata Gintoki. The colorful image was even tacked alongside a caption which can be read below:

“My daughter is a superfan of Gintama. She has never read my series but has gone through Gintama again and again. She even buys tons of merchandise for it. One day I caught her reading Dragon Ball which I thought was strange, but she explained that it was Gintama‘s parody version of Dragon Ball‘s roots. Thank you, [Hideaki] Sorachi-san,” Toriyama wrote.

Created by Sorachi, the Gintama manga made its debut in December 2003. The long-running series is set in an alternate Edo-period where aliens have taken over the world. A young hero named Gintoki leads the story as the freelance samurai does odd jobs for rent money. But, when the hero becomes entangled with one of the planet’s alien invaders, he finds himself thrown into one hilarious episodic adventure.

This month, Dragon Ball Super’s story arc kicked off the ‘Universal Survival’ saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:

“At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! …But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished…?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out…?!”

As for the saga’s start date, the new arc premiered on February 5, 2017. The “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
