There is just something about Dragon Ball that attracts fan-theories. The franchise is considered a classic by many, and it still churns out new content decades after its debut. With so many television series and films to consider, the Dragon Ball fandom has collected a little niche of fan-theories over the years.

Akira Toriyama’s word may be considered law when it comes to Dragon Ball‘s canon, but that has not stopped fans from adding on to the franchise’s extensive lore. Some of the anime‘s bigger fan-theories centered around folks like Goten and Krillin. The number of fans who question whether Goku is truly the father of Gohan’s younger brother is staggering since Chi-Chi hasn’t had the chance to knock sense into them. And, when it comes to Krillin, the accident-prone martial artist is said to be a better warrior than even Goku.

Bulma’s Mom Is An Android

Artificial humans are par for the course with Dragon Ball, but have fans been overlooking one for years now. Androids 17 and 18 became franchise staples after Dr. Gero brought them to life, and Bulma’s father may have inadvertently inspired the mad scientist to do such a thing.

Dr. Brief is married to the lovely Panchy, but there is something off about his youthful wife; That is, she doesn’t seem to age. The blond matriarch seems to defy the laws of time as she didn’t age half as much as her husband has following Bulma’s birth. So, it could be that Dr. Brief learned the trick to love was to simply make your perfect partner.

Super Saiyan God = Guardian Of Planet Vegeta

Dragon Ball lore is a complicated thing, and one fan-theory seems determined to make it even more difficult to understand. As explained in Dragon Ball Super, there was once an unnamed Super Saiyan who was once heralded as the original Super Saiyan God. The man was determined to defeat all of the evil Saiyans, so he learned how to go SSJG to fight off his enemies from Planet Vegeta. However, thanks to the brief nature of the SSJG form, the man ultimately lost – or did he?

Fans seem to think the original Super Saiyan God is also the so-called Guardians of Planet Vegeta. The anonymous character was never seen thanks to the cloak they wear, but fans are wondering if Planet Vegeta’s overseer turned against his own world after he saw the evil it housed.

The Grand Priest & Angels Plot

Dragon Ball Super is in the midst of its ‘Universal Survival’ arc, and fans are still trying to suss out who the storyline’s villain will be. Right now, a number of fans are thinking the anime is setting up the Grand Priest of even the Omni-King to be its next baddie, and theories continue to spring up about their motivations.

If the Omni-King went dark side, fans expect it to be unintentional. The character is a childish one, and the Omni-King has proved he is just a gullible child with unbelievable powers. As for the Grand Priest, the Angel is the Omni-King’s teacher and could become Goku’s biggest villain yet if he turned evil. With power at hand and an Angel army to command, the Grand Priest looks like he is a man to keep an eye out for.

The Ginyu Force Traumatized Gohan

Any Dragon Ball Z fan would tell you that it’s hard to forget the Ginyu Force. The squadron of warriors worked under Freeza’s command, and its fighters held overtake planets for the warlord. Gohan took down the goofy bunch, and the Ginyu Force’s foolish gags downplayed just how strong its warriors were. Fans have come to wonder if Gohan was mentally scarred by the encounter, and the half-Saiyan acts upon the trauma by suiting up as the Great Saiyaman.

When you think about it, the theory isn’t all that bogus. There are lots of similarities between Gohan’s superhero alter-ego and the Ginyu Force members. The conspiracy is also one of the more tame ideas connecting Gohan and Freeza’s minions. In some circles, fans are convinced Goku’s son had his body overtaken by Captain Ginyu as a mean to infiltrate the Z-Fighters gang.
