It has been a long time coming, but fans of Dragon Ball Super will finally get to experience its ongoing arc’s action. The ‘Universal Survival’ saga kicked off in February, but it is just now reaching its main attraction. Goku and his Universe 7 team is about see the multiverse’s Tournament of Power begin, and the event will put the hero’s home at risk. Over on Twitter, user @YonkouProd shared a batch of episode titles online for fan-translators to work through. A fan by the name of @AnimeAjay cracked the episode titles for Dragon Ball Super‘s next two episodes which can be found below:

  • Episode 96: “The Time Has Come! To the World of Void, Where the Universes’ Fates Will Be Decided!!”
  • Episode 97: “Survive! The Curtain Finally Opens on the ‘Tournament of Power’!!”

Judging by the episode titles, it looks like the Tournament of Power is about to begin. Next week, fans will watch as Universe 7 assembles at the event’s arena, and Goku will finally get to meet Jiren face-to-face. The following episode is then expected to see the tournament begin after the Omni-King dish out any last second rules.

For now, there is no word on what the title of Dragon Ball Super‘s 98th episode will be, but fans have a hunch about it. Recently, the Japanese voice actor for Yamcha took to social media to tease fans about a comeback for the fighter. Toru Furuya told fans he got “worn out talking a lot as Yamcha,” and the teaser has got fans thinking a filler arc might be coming up.

If Dragon Ball Super is about to enter the action-packed part of its current arc, it will need time to animate its intense sequences. The anime could very well air a short filler arc if need be which focuses on Yamcha back on Earth. The Z-Fighter was not asked to take part in the tournament, but the absence of Universe 7’s team makes him one of Earth’s strongest fighters. If a threat were to come to the planet whilst the Tournament of Power is going on, Yamcha would be the guy who’d head to the front lines.

You know, that is if Bulma and Chichi don’t beat him there firstโ€ฆ

The synopsis of Dragon Ball Super‘s current saga can be read here:

“According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called “Chikara no Taikai” (Tournament of Power). But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe’s elite warriors?”

Dragon Ball Super‘s “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
