Back in 1993, the Dragon Ball fandom got its first taste of a Legendary Super Saiyan when Broly was born. The hulking villain debuted in a one-off Dragon Ball Z movie that’s considered controversial still today. When fans learned Dragon Ball Super planned to canonize the form with a new female Saiyan, fans were left wary of the decision. However, it seems like all of that hesitancy has drained away.

After all, it’s still hard to hold a grudge against Kale after you see the lady Saiyan go berserk.
In the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super, fans watched as franchise’s second female Super Saiyan cemented herself in the canon. Kale managed to go Super Saiyan after her mentor Caulifla powered up a week ago; However, Kale’s form was notably different.
Giving a clear nod to Broly, Dragon Ball Super made Kale’s Super Saiyan form look just like the villain’s. There has been no official word on whether the woman is considered a Legendary Super Saiyan yet, but her transformation mirrors Broly with scary accuracy. Even the scene in which Kale transforms in ripped from Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan as much of its dialogue syncs together.
In the video above, fans can watch the historic transformation for themselves. The clip begins with Kale crying in front of Caulifla and Cabba; The two Saiyans were trying to goad Kale into going Super Saiyan by taunting her. Apparently, their strategy works too well. Kale’s energy goes berserk as she transforms into a hulking Super Saiyan, and she promises that her first actions post-change will be to finish off Cabba.
Yikes!
