When it comes to Son Goku, there are not many warriors who can step to the Saiyan. Dragon Ball never fails to champion Goku’s skills, but it looks like the fighter is about to go head-to-head with a warrior who can make the Saiyan pause. The latest episode of Dragon Ball Super just introduced Goku to Jiren, and the latter managed to intimate the hero big time.

The 96th episode of Dragon Ball Super aired on Saturday, and the episode saw the multiverse convene for the Tournament of Power. The martial arts event will test eight universes to see which worlds will be forcefully annihilated by the Omni-King. Universe 7 made its arrival thanks to Whis and Beerus, but Goku did not anticipate the greeting he received from Universe 11.
When Goku approached the opposing team, the Saiyan did so to greet Toppo since the pair fought before during an exhibition match. Toppo wasn’t in the mood to squabble as the Pride Trooper said he had the fate of Universe 11 on his hands. Then, when Goku finally noticed Jiren, everything went south.
In the clip above, you can watch as Goku tries to introduce himself to Jiren. “Hey you,” the Saiyan yells, but the other warrior manages to instantly transport behind Goku.
“Get lost,” Jiren warns, and Goku seems stunned by the fighter’s speed. The hero didn’t even recognize that Jiren moved, and the Pride Trooper continues to impress Goku. When a God of Destruction throws energy-infused blockades at the pair later, the Saiyan moves to avoid being hit entirely. Jiren doesn’t budge; The warrior is able to sense how the blocks will follow through, allowing him to stay still whilst the projectiles rush by him.
By the encounter’s end, Goku is left standing near his team. “He completely read the blocks’ movements,” the Saiyan mutters to himself. “He really is no ordinary guy.”
Fans have known for awhile now that Jiren would provide a particular challenge to Goku. The Universe 11 warrior is said to be the strongest Pride Trooper as Toppo bragged about his senior. Goku was intrigued by Toppo’s promise and began to look forward to battling with Jiren. Now, it looks like the Saiyan is more pumped up than ever before, but part of Goku’s adrenaline may be the product of fear.
