Dragon Ball Super fans have finally been given a female Super Saiyan, with Universe 6’s Caulifla being the first and Kale being the second, although; Kale a little special. In episode 100 of Dragon Ball Super fans watched as the shy Saiyan girl from Universe 6, powered up into a monstrous creature and tore the Tournament of Power apart.

After Kale exploded and attacked Goku in that episode, she reverted back to her base form, where she couldn’t remember anything. Kale’s new form is incredibly powerful but she lacked the ability to control it; well until now that is. In episode 101 of Dragon Ball Super things changed, as Kale and Caulifla were backed into a corner by Universe 11’s Pride Troopers. Kale snapped yet again, as she watched Caulifla beaten to a pulp, however; this time was quite different.
Kale: “Is this…me?” Caulifla says Kale has managed to control her power now without going beserk.

This time Kale seemed less buff and was in total control of her powers, she was less angry and more concerned for the well-being of her friend. This was evident as Kale powered up further and unleashed all her might, with no signs of her losing control anymore. At this time Kale said, “Is this me?” as she has no recollection of her previous rampages. Even Goku asked Caulifla if it was all right for Kale to be in that form again, however, this time it was.
Backing up a bit: Goku asks if Kale is alright “like that” (ie Broly mode), Caulifla again says she can control her “ultra super” power now.

This form of Kale’s is quite similar to that of the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, in both looks and characteristics. Just like Broly, Kale couldn’t control all the immense power and was fuelled by rage alone. Kale’s anger towards Goku clearly was the trigger to her power up, as Broly’s hatred for Goku also caused him to go on a rampage as well.
However, this has never been called the Legendary Super Saiyan transformation, which Broly’s is. Instead, Kale’s power up has been called “Ultra Super” by Caulifla and a “Saiyan’s True Form,” by Universe 7’s Vegeta. As similar as they are, they are still different and now that Kale has full control of her powers, she may even be considered stronger than Broly, as he was pretty much just a ball of uncontrollable rage. Kale has already shown a great deal of improvement during the Tournament of Power, which now makes her an even bigger threat to the other universes, fighting for their existence.
