If you’ve been keeping up with Dragon Ball Super, then you know the show’s fandom is keeping a close eye on Goku. The anime is set to debut a new transformation for the Saiyan in a matter of weeks, but little is known about the form. However, a recent rumor may shed light on the power-up.
The anime fandom is buzzing over on Twitter thanks to an update from 2Chan. The site, which is known for hosting anime spoilers, suggests Goku’s new transformation will be a violent one. The form is said to involve “awakening the original brutal and cruel Saiyan genes” which Universe 7 was once familiar with.
Of course, there are plenty of fans questioning the authenticity of the spoilers. After all, 2Chan has been hit-or-miss with its leaks, and they are rarely (if ever) spot-on to Dragon Ball Super‘s actual content. With no source to lean on, the leak can be regarded as nothing but a rumor. Noted anime translators like Yonkou Productions and Ken Xyro have cast doubt over the rumor’s thanks to their unusual timing, but the “leaks” do have fans buzzing.
After all, netizens are still trying to suss out how Goku will come about his new transformation. New reports revealed the Saiyan will take on his new form on October 8th in a Dragon Ball Super TV special. The debut is being described as the “climax” of the Tournament of Power, so fans will get to see Goku power into the form when he fights against Jiren.
Fans will know that Jiren has shown little interest in fighting Goku in the anime so far. The Saiyan wants nothing more than to face the Pride Trooper, but Jiren doesn’t seem to think Goku is worth his time. If the Saiyan powers up into a form powered by the Saiyan race’s cruelty, Jiren may finally step in. After all, the fighter is the leader of a group who is sworn to protect its own universe from harm; If Jiren thinks Goku may go berserk, the mysterious warrior might just try to strike him down preemptively.
