This week, Naruto Shippuden celebrated a major milestone. The anime had its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, and fans were more than happy to honor the occasion by watching the show's newest episodes. Right now, the anime has started a new story arc that will see two major characters married. Fans are finally going to see Naruto and Hinata tie the knot, and the epilogue story will butt up against the end of Naruto Shippuden. And, now, the folks behind the series have announced what the anime's final end theme will be.
In the newest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, Naruto Shippuden confirmed it will introduce its final end theme on February 22nd. The song will be done by Swimy and be titled "Zetsu Zetsu."
You can check out a preview of the theme below thanks to Swimy's Twitter:
Of course, Naruto will not be off-air for long. The iconic series will live on thanks to a new spin-off series. Boruto: The Next Generation is set to premiere in April 2017 shortly after Naruto Shippuden wraps. The anime series will follow Boruto Uzumaki and his comrades as they learn about their parents' reputations. Characters like Sarada Uchiha will act as the show's leads, and the anime has aspirations to be better than its two predecessors.
Recently, Weekly Shonen Jump spoke with the creator of Naruto about the spin-off. Masashi Kishimoto had plenty to say about the anime, and he did confess it was difficult to transition from Naruto Shippuden's darker tone to Boruto's lighter aesthetic.
"As it went along, the Naruto stop kept getting more introspective and darker and darker. So for Boruto, I want it to be a little bit more happy and fun. Something that the younger boys and girls can also enjoy," he said.
"There's a lot of characters that haven't shown up in Boruto yet," the creator continued, "so I'm excited about the drama involving them."
