The summer season is often one of the best for anime fans, and that is thanks to all of the shows the debut during the cour. This was made especially clear amidst the ongoing pandemic as some of the industry’s anticipated comebacks were delayed until the start of summer. With the season ever so slowly heading to a close, fans are looking back on the season, and they’ve gone so far as to rank their top picks.

The work was done over in Japan by NTT Docomo as it is one of the country’s largest phone operators. It was there the company polled nearly 70,000 fans about their summer anime rankings, and the results were a bit surprising. The company asked users about the summer shows they were still watching and would rank as favorites, so a total of 29 shows were written in.
You can check out the top ten list of anime ranked below with the number ten spot going to a surprising pick. As the list climbs its way towards the top spot, you will find some top-tier titles ranked like Fire Force, so fans would be hard-pressed to find fault in this inclusive list!
