After a nasty little exchange between Marvel Studios and star of the film The Incredible Hulk Edward Norton, reports indicate that actor Mark Ruffalo will take on the green-skinned tough guy for the hyped film The Avengers. Slated for a May 4, 2012 opening, The Avengers will bring together actors Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, and others starring in Marvel adaptations over the next two years such as Scarlet Johansson and Chris Hemsworth. Ruffalo will be in good company with the case, and under the knowing helm of Joss Whedon, who was recently confirmed as the director of the project. Ruffalo's name quickly surfaced after the mudslinging between Norton and Marvel, with Marvel stating that they needed a star with a more "collaborative spirit", and Norton's camp arguing that the move by Marvel was "unprofessional". All that appears to be in the dust now, as Ruffalo will assume the green skin and gamma-irradiated charm of the classic character!
