Halle Berry talks Storm on Tonight Show

It seems likely that Ororo Munroe will play a fairly small role in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, following revelations this week that the actress playing her (Academy Award-winner Halle Berry) is expecting another child. Representatives for Berry confirmed her pregnancy a couple of days ago, although no due date is yet known. Still, with filming on the movie starting this month, it seems likely that Berry will be pregnant for all or most of the key filming dates. What, if anything, does that mean for the movie? Well, it confirms something that most people had already assumed: Storm will likely not play a major role in the film, which is loosely based on a story in which the character was not heavily featured. While the film isn't following the comics to the letter, with Singer including a number of characters who weren't in the source material, Berry's late inclusion in the cast (she just confirmed it in March) and a lack of urgency on Singer's part as to whether she would come back (she'll probably be back, he said a handful of times) suggested to many that her role would be little more than a cameo. The prospect of a 46-year-old pregnant woman playing a big role in a big-budget action movie seems pretty unlikely, and the idea of her doing a lot of wire work during her pregnancy doubly so. We'll likely find out more at Comic Con this year, where Singer has intimated he'll be to promote the movie.
