Indiewire's Shadows and Act blog broke the news earlier today that Halle Berry will almost certainly appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past, according to Halle Berry. Of course, the writer doesn't have any video or direct quotes, so it's difficult to determine exactly what was said, but here it is as presented by Indiewire:

Well, she did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role. Most likely. Practically 90% sure. And she nodded a lot too. I can't say, and neither could she say that it's definitely a done deal, and that the contracts have all been signed, with all the "i"s dotted and the "t"s crossed. She told me that are a few details that are still being negotiated which she couldn't get into. But since she did tell me that the film starts shooting in April, it's highly unlikely that talks are going to suddenly and horribly fall apart at this point, and the producers have to scramble to find a replacement at the very last minute.

Of course, the "mad scramble to find a replacement" ignores the possibility that in a film with such a huge cast, and Berry not yet signed, her character could be more or less expendable, and that if Berry can't come aboard they might just not use Storm at all. .If the time-travel elements of the movie really do merge the timelines of X-Men and X-Men: Days of Future Past, it could easily justify re-casting of Berry and other actors whose deals are up after this year, meaning that it could be this movie or bust for Berry to begin with. Director Bryan Singer, though, said just the other day that he would love to have her aboard, so it seems likely that it will come down to getting a deal done before filming begins in just under two months.
