Breaking Bad: Sneak Peek at the Series Finale

breaking-bad-tim-seeleyNote: The first draft of this story erroneously identified The Newsroom star Jeff Daniels as R.I.P.D. star Jeff Bridges. Apologies.

AMC have released a trailer for the series finale of Breaking Bad, which you can see embedded below.

Ever since rumors started to swirl that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston could be Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman, the forthcoming Man of Steel sequel from Zack Snyder and David S. Goyer, the Emmy-winning (although not tonight; he lost out to The Newsroom's Jeff Daniels) actor has been on everybody's radar--especially as Breaking Bad draws to a close.

Will we ever see Cranston shave his head down again to play Lex Luthor? It's difficult to know, but most of the rumors had suggested that if such an announcement were imminent, it would come shortly after the conclusion of Breaking Bad, presumably to capitalize on the publicity surrounding the end of the acclaimed series and also to avoid the comic book movie news detracting from AMC's last hurrah with Heisenberg.

We're skeptical, not just about the reports but doubly so about those claims. Still, the rumors won't go away until Lex is cast one way or another, and in the meantime, there's more buzz around Breaking Bad in the comics community than there's ever been.

The Breaking Bad series finale airs on Sunday, September 29 at 9 p.m.. EST/PST.

At right, you can see an image by Hack/Slash creator Tim Seeley, who sells this Heisenberg print at conventions.  We've got a couple of these that we'll be giving away later in the week, as Breaking Bad ends its run and Seeley wraps his time on Top Cow's Witchblade. More details on that to come.
