“Turn, Turn, Turn,” opens with a shot of a plane flying over the clouds. Agent Garrett is inside. He becomes flanked by two other aircrafts. Garrett radios for confirmation that the aircrafts are friendly, but gets no response. The aircrafts fire missiles at him and he begins taking evasive maneuvers. The two missiles hit each other and explode behind him. He looks and realizes he was just fired on by S.H.I.E.L.D. drones.Back on the Bus, we pick up where the last episode left off, with Coulson and Skye holding Agent May at gunpoint. Coulson wants to know where May rerouted the plane. May denies having anything to do with the plane turning around, but no one believes her. May says that S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters can override the planes’ controls. She says she can fix it if she can get back to the cockpit, but no one is willing to let her try it. Coulson asks about the encrypted hardline and May says it was a direct line to Nick Fury. May says that’s all she can tell them because she is under orders from Fury. May points out that Fitz was toying with the Bus’s cables. Coulson asks for an explanation. Fitz tells him he was trying to talk to Simmons at the Hub, but Coulson doesn’t understand why he needed an encrypted line for that. Fitz says that Simmons is trying to find out how GH 325 works and May asks who Simmons is talking to. Coulson tells Fitz to open the door and tells Skye to get into the system and see if she can figure out where the Bus is headed. Once Fitz opens the door, Coulson demands to know who Simmons is talking to because she may be in danger. We cut to Simmons at work in a lab at the Hub. Agent Triplett enters. They begin chatting, noting the amount of action going on around the Hub. Simmons has been told that it’s a level 8 operation, though it is actually the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and she says she’s surprised to have the room to herself. Triplett asks her what she’s working on but Simmons quickly turns off her equipment to hide it. Triplett asks if she’s hiding something, which Simmons denies. Triplett brings up GH 325 and says it didn’t come up in the dispatches and that she didn’t bring it up when Agent Blake was crushed by Deathlok, saying that blood is on her hands if she chose to hide it. Simmons says she knows and closes the door. She explains that people died to keep the secret and that’s why they were trying to keep the research in house, but that she hit a dead end. She’s looking to upload Skye’s gene scans and to covertly contact Agent Weaver at S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy for some help. She asks Triplett to keep everything between the two of them to avoid trouble. Triplett says his level six clearance will give them access to a secure line. Triplett says that, if they’re questioned, he should do the talking because Simmons is a surprisingly bad liar. Simmons says she know, but that she’s getting better at it.Back on the bus, Skye is on her laptop and saying that there is noise across all S.H.I.E.L.D. channels. Coulson questions May, but she says she doesn’t know what’s going on. Coulson doesn’t believe her. Garret’s voice comes through the com. He tells them about the drones on his tail. Coulson shoots May and asks Fitz if he can rewire the Bus’s weapons. He says yes. Coulson tells Skye to decode the signal.Coulson and Fitz carry May, in handcuffs, into the holding room with Ward. Ward asks what happened and Coulson says she’s a sleeper and that she’s been reporting on them the whole time.Fitz is laying down cable for the reroute job. He gets the controls live and tells Coulson. Coulson begins warming up the guns. Garrett gets in close to the Bus and flies just over, giving Coulson a clear shot that takes out one of the drones. Coulson and Garrett work out a plan for Garrett to “play dead” so that they can get the other drone, but Garret let’s Coulson know that he’s running on fumes. Garrett comes straight at the bus and Coulson fires straight at him. Garrett does a barrel roll and the shot takes out the other drone.
