Today at the Special Edition: NYC comics festival, Marvel Comics revealed a number of new covers and solicitations tied to their upcoming Axis event.

Uncanny AvengersLoki: Agent of AsgardMagneto and Captain America will launch a "March to Axis" that sees the regular stories in these ongoings start to feed events that will launch Marvel's big villain-centric, Avengers/X-Men storyline.

Uncanny Avengers #24 sees what appears to be the meat of the Axis stuff, as Red

Skull makes an appearance while things seem hopeless for Havok and his group. Cullen Bunn and Gabriel Hernandez, meanwhile, bring Magneto into the story for Magneto #9, where he crosses paths with Red Skull and is none to pleased about what he finds. These two, in particular, feel like the culmination of what's been going on since the start with Rick Remender's Uncanny Avengers.

Loki finds himself face to face with Doctor Doom and Valeria Richards in Loki: Agent of Asgard #6 by Al Ewing and Lee Garbett, hailed as a jumping-on point for the series. Loki, in particular, has baffled fans somewhat by appearing with a bunch of fairly clear-cut villains on the cover of Axis teasers, in spite of the fact that his situation for some time in the Marvel Universe has been more complex than that.

Remender's Captain America #24 sees Axis cross paths with the ongoing "Tomorrow Soldier" storyline as Cap, Jet Black and Falcon deal with Zola and the Red Skull's road to Axis kicks off in earnest.
