The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Friday Night Lights and G.I. Joe: Retaliation star Adrianne Palicki has been cast as Bobbi Morse, a.k.a. Mockingbird, in Season 2 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Palicki will make her first appearance as Mockingbird in the fifth episode of the show’s second season, with the possibility – but not the promise – that she will reappear in later episodes.

This isn’t Palicki’s first attempt at becoming a superhero. She was cast as the lead in the pilot for Amazon, a CW Wonder Woman series that never got picked up.
Mockingbird’s inclusion in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 was first hinted at in a video presentation at Comic-Con International: San Diego, featuring Patton Oswalt as Agent(s) Koening saying that Mockingbird would be ready if Agent Coulson needed her.
In the comics, Mockingbird is an Avengers and has a romantic relationship with Hawkeye. Following the announcement at Comic-Con announcement, we asked Executive Producer Jeph Loeb if we could see that relationship explored in the cinematic universe.
“I think we have to meet her first,” says Loeb, “and then we’ll see where it goes from there.”
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for its second season September 23 on ABC.
