As the farthest was of Marvel Studios officially announced movies, the Ant-Man movie updates are usually few and far between. A couple weeks ago, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did confirm as suspected that the Ant-Man movie would be an origin story. In a new interview with IGN, director Edgar Wright elaborated slightly on how he plans to tell that original story. In describing Ant-Man, Wright said, “It’s a way of doing a superhero film within another genre. I wanted to tell an origin tale in a slightly different way. It’s part of the Marvel cinematic universe, but it also feels like its own piece.”As far as why it’s taken so long to get the Ant-Man movie up and running, the simple answer is Edgar Wright had two other films he wanted to complete first. However, Wright feels that putting off Ant-Man will actually help the movie in the long run. Wright explained, “But to be honest, the later I do it, it feels like I could learn more, especially about special effects. It’s a big effects movie, so I’m pleased to go into it having done Scott Pilgrim and The World’s End because you’re always learning more about that side.”At Comic-Con, Edgar Wright debuted some unfinished footage from Ant-Man, and the rest of the world has been anxiously awaiting to see that footage. Well, it doesn’t appear that the footage is being released any time soon. Wright said, “I hope that at some point we’ll be able to show that at some venue all finished. Because obviously at Comic-Con we showed it unfinished. All done it looks really good.”Ant-Man is set to be released in movie theaters on November 6, 2015.
