Da7e from Latino Review is reporting that the Hutts will make an appearance in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
According to him, there will be more than one Hutt that appears in the film, though he isn’t sure how many there will be. How will they look? For George Lucas’ Star Wars: Special Edition he added a computer-generated Jaba The Hutt, but for The Force Awakens the alien race will be created with practical effects like it was for Return Of The Jedi.

Keep in mind, the other day in Bob Iger’s shareholders report he said Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars Standalone film, which comes out in 2016, is based on characters from The Force Awakens. Could the Hutts be in Edwards’ spinoff film? “I’m sure their existence could have factored in to them being included, or the expenditure was made because it was all coordinated,” Da7e’s source told him.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives in theaters December 18, 2015.
