Conceptual artist Andy Poon designs costumes for The CW Television Network’s two comic book-based television series, The Flash and Arrow. Yesterday, Andy posted some new concept art featuring upgrades Oliver Queen’s superhero costume received for special crossover event with The Flash. “The strap for the quiver is more like a bandolier now that holds special trick arrow tips,” Andy wrote. “There are flechette holders added to his left arm, lower back and his thighs. 2 seams were added at the lower front of jacket which makes it feel a bit more like the lines of the abs which we all know Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) has, but also for the new jacket belt to loop through that holds 2 side pouches.”

Take a good long hard look at the last image. You’ll see the boxing glove arrow tip. That was a “blooper version” Andy designed for fun, but it actually ended up being used in the “Guilty” episode this past season.
Arrow returns Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
