In the weekly “Ask Ausiello” column at TVLine, Michael Ausiello dished out his regular dose of teasers and mild spoilers. While comic book and genre tv shows didn’t get a major spotlight in this edition, one of Arrow’s former big bads got an update. Malcolm Merlyn will be back, of course, in season 4, but he’ll also be returning to form.

He’ll be “trying to be a good father [to Thea] while also being the very evil, badass Ra’s al Ghul,” EP Wendy Mericle told Ausiello. “We want to restore him to more of the Season 1 Malcolm who was going around and messing up Oliver’s plans.”
Of course, not everyone is happy that Malcolm is the new Ra’s, especially the last one’s daughter, who was previously in line for the leadership of the League of Assassins.
“[Nyssa]’s definitely not going to be on board with Malcolm as Ra’s. We’re hoping to take that in a cool, very fighty-fight orientated direction,” Mericle teased.
With the next episode being titled “Restoration” and featuring scenes in Nanda Parbat, home to the League of Assassin’s, it seems those “fighty-fights” might be coming sooner than later.
