Earlier today, we saw lots of audition videos for CBS’ upcoming comic book-based television series Supergirl and now a couple audition videos for Marvel’s Netflix series A.K.A. Jessica Jones have been spotted.
Funny enough, the first video, which is two months old, is from Meghan Ory. She’s one of the actresses that we saw earlier auditioning for Supergirl’s foster sister, Alex Danvers. Many of you will recognize Ory as Red Riding Hood from ABC’s fairy tale television series Once Upon A Time. In this video, she’s reading for the lead role, which eventually went to Krysten Ritter (“Breaking Bad”). Jessica is explaining to the owner of a bar, most likely Luke Cage, that she is in danger because an evil man from her past is back.

From the dialogue we can tell that this evil man named ‘Kincade’ is actually an alias for The Purple Man. This baddie has the ability to manipulate others and in the past forced Jessica with his mind control powers to be with him for a long period of time. This sounds exactly like The Purple Man (aka Zebediah Killgrave ) story arc. A highlight in that arc is when he brainwashed Jessica to attack Daredevil, but instead she attacked The Scarlet Witch. Jessica is then beaten into a coma by The Avengers.
The second video is of an actor auditioning for The Purple Man (alia ‘Kincade’) role. He is toying with Jessica during a phone conversation. It is pretty interesting to listen to how manipulative he can be.
Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones – An all-new 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015 following “Marvel’s Daredevil.” Krysten Ritter to star in Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones for Netflix. Ritter will play Jessica Jones, first introduced in writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos’ classic ALIAS comic series. After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
