Who knew Lex Luthor cared about clean energy so much? To be fair, he probably doesn’t, but he sure wants you to think he does.

On Lex Corp Industries Instagram, Luthor shared a satellite photo from 2013 taken by Wayne Enterprises. The satellite was destroyed in the final fight between Superman and Zod (in Man of Steel), but before it lost signal it sent out a photo that shows just how much electricity is used and wasted by both Metropolis and Gotham (at least, that is what Lex says). It ends with a series of hashtags, including #Timeforchange.

A nice jab at Wayne Enterprises and Superman’s destruction of Metropolis all in one Instagram post. Luthor is certainly efficient.
Anytime marketing crosses over with the characters of a film in an unforced way I’m delighted. Hopefully, we’ll see more of this up until the release of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25th.
