Could anyone have predicted five years ago that the day would come when Ben Affleck as Batman and Channing Tatum as Gambit would trend worldwide on the same day on Twitter? In what looks to be a prime example of the battle between Marvel and DC for movie supremacy, the talk of Twitter today has been Batman and Gambit.Early this morning, news broke that X-Men: Days of Future Past Executive Producer Lauren Shuler Donner had confirmed that Channing Tatum had been cast as Gambit. But a little later in the day, Batman Vs. Superman Director Zack Snyder dropped a bombshell of his own, revealing the first official look at Ben Affleck in the new Batsuit.While it might seem like Snyder’s reveal was designed to steal the attention away from Channing Tatum as Gambit, Snyder had actually teased the reveal of the Batmobile yesterday, so the photo release was planned before the Tatum news broke.
