Bridesmaids Star O’Dowd Will Appear in Thor: The Dark World

During a new interview in support of his film The Sapphires, former Bridesmaids star Chris O’Dowd revealed that he’s filmed a scene for Thor: The Dark World…and after a little detective work, the blogosphere has pretty much already figured out the nature of that scene.”I don’t know if I’d do an action movie because I don’t know if I could keep a straight face honestly, I just think it’s so silly,” O’Dowd told Indiewire (via CBM). “Like I love watching them but I can’t imagine me doing one. Actually, you know what I’ve done, just for fun because I didn’t think there was any way that I could be in a superhero movie, so I’ve done a scene in the new Thor movie, just for that. I just do like one scene, which was fun.”While that was in and of itself not much of a giveaway, CBM tracked down a tweet from O’Dowd, made back in November when Thor: The Dark World was still in production, in which he said he’d just finished filming a date scene with Thor star Natalie Portman.

They speculate that the actor may actually be playing Donald Blake, a name familiar to fans of the comic book source material since he’s both Thor’s secret identity in the comics and Jane Foster’s ex-boyfriend, referenced in the first film.
