The new content, titled A Shadow Falls, is completely free and launches officially tomorrow, July 1st. The campaign is split into five acts, and will reside between Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV. Throughout your journey to stop Shadaloo you’ll utilize all 16 main characters, as well as the 6 downloadable ones, including the ones who have not been released yet. You can view a new trailer for the campaign in the video above.

For fans looking for a new challenge in multiplayer, Capcom is introducing two new combatants into the fray. The brutish boxer Balrog makes his big return to the series along with fan-favorite ninja Ibuki. Balrog’s always been an up close and power focused fighter, and that hasn’t changed here. He now has access to a powerful V-Trigger that allows him to chain his attacks in a more efficient and devasting way. As for Ibuki, the quick-witted fighter now has a glide ability, and can now also throw ninja bombs in mid-air. She was already hard to anticipate, and these new abilities should just make that even harder.

In addition to the new characters, the update will also introduce new costume and stage DLC, as well as some overall matchmaking improvements. Make sure to hit the gallery for an up-close look at both Balrog and Ibuki as well.
