Actor Dave Prowse was the physical actor for the role of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars films, but as most people know, that wasn’t his voice emanating from the intimidating helmet. Instead, it was James Earl Jones’ deep bass booming out.

On the Jonathan Ross Show, Carrie Fisher gave fans an idea of what it was like on the set, reading lines from the first Star Wars film with comedian Russell Howard, who, like Prowse, has a West Country British accent. The results are – well, they’ll make you feel very thankful for James Earl Jones.
Carrie Fisher, of course, is back in the UK shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is prepping for a December 15, 2017 release.
