Pratt will play Duncan, a patient with Multiple Personality Disorder who is turned into a specialized assassin called a Triplet, so named for having three different assassin personas. In Duncan’s case, one is a cowboy, another a ninja, and the other a Viking. The plot revolves around Duncan breaking free from the program, and attempting to hunt down the billionaire behind it all.
Cowboy Ninja Viking has been in development for years, with Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick having penned a script for Disney. The studio passed, and the project was picked up by Universal, who attached Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster. Forster has since left the project, and there is currently no director attached.
According to Collider, the film’s script calls for different physical manifestations of Duncan’s personalities on screen, even though characters in the film will only see Duncan. This would mean casting three more actors to play Duncan’s personalities, but this may change when a director becomes involved.
