Channing Tatum won’t be the only action-comedy star to wield a proton pack for long, as Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt is now rumored to join the newly-announced Ghostbusters film universe.

According to an online report that spoke to Sony Studios insiders, the concept for another Ghostbusters film, with male actors, organically sprung from the idea of pairing Tatum and Pratt on screen together. The two actors are already friends in real-life, and supposedly want to work on a project together.
The report also detailed the spin-off’s specifics, revealing that it won’t be as “guy-centric” as initially reported, but will just have male actors at it’s center than Paul Feig’s female-led film. The film’s cast would spin out of that Ghostbusters reboot, and then after having it’s own installment, would team with the female Ghostbusters in an Avengers-style crossover.
BadAssDigest’s sources also hinted that even though Sony has a Ghostbusters Universe mapped out, not every film will be about apprehending disembodied spirits. According to the sources, the “Ghostbusters” name is merely a catch-all phrase for a slate of action-driven, supernatural comedies anchored by the Ghostbusters.
Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot hits theaters on July 22, 2016.
