52-year-old comedian/ventriloquist Jeff Dunham spoke to the Wall Street Journal about owning and restoring a Batmobile that was used in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns.

“I bought a Keaton Batmobile in 2011,” Dunham told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s a movie prop; it was used as the stand-in car in the filming of the 1992 Warner Bros. movie Batman Returns, starring Michael Keaton. I put a Corvette engine in it and re-engineered things so it’s drivable and safe. It has blinkers, taillights, and five cameras in it so you can see everything around you. With all the upgrades, I easily spent a half-million dollars on it.ย  When I go to a car show, I see all these guys with their Lamborghinis. I drive up in this plywood and fiberglass movie prop and people go nuts. It’s nothing but happy.”

Dunham has had some interesting personal issues recently as his his new wifeย Audrey Dunham is suing his ex-wife Paige Dunham. Paige registered “AudreyDunham” domain names to prevent Jeff’s new wife from using them and offered to sell them to Audrey for a hefty sum. Jeff isn’t letting all of that drama get him down, thanks to his Batmobile!

“In the past few years, no matter what troubles have come alongโ€”business problems, divorce problemsโ€”I always think: Yeahโ€ฆbut I own the Batmobile,” Jeff said. “And that makes everything OK.”

We’ll get to see a new Batmobile in action when Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice is released on March 25th, 2016.
