A prospective second season for the Vertigo adaptation has been up in the air since the series failed to secure a back nine order and ended its first season after 13 episodes. In many cases, a network will simply cancel shows that don’t get a back nine, but because network executives liked Constantine and because ratings were on the rise for most of the season, NBC decided to let the rest of the produced episodes air and see whether they could justify bringing it back.
Cerone has been fairly transparent about the process of trying to get a second season, in particular since so many outlets reported that the series was cancelled and producers were eager to get the message out that there was still hope for a continuation.

Fans can stream existing episodes of Constantine from the NBC website or buy them on Amazon, iTunes and other services. If NBC decides to pick up a second season in May, it will likely debut in October.
