The past year has been a busy one for the Harry Potter franchise. After lying dormant for years, JK Rowling revived the series with a brand-new stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. And, to top off the revival, the author penned a new film series that acts as a sort-of prequel to Harry Potter. With so much moving in motion, fans of the series naturally began to wonder if stars like Daniel Radcliffe would reprise their iconic roles one days. And, now, the British actor has commented on whether he’d return to the Wizarding World.
Recently, Radcliffe sat down with Good Morning Britain to talk about his upcoming projects and reflect on his Harry Potter days. It was there he was asked if he’d appear in another magical movie, and here’s what he had to say:

“Oh, I don’t know. I’m not sure, that’s a long way off isn’t it? I mean, Harry’s gotten a bit older now. I really don’t know, I think that’s all highly theoretical talk. If it ever became more than theoretical, I would, of course, think about it.”
Of course, fans would be thrilled to see the star return as Harry Potter. The actor began work on the franchise when he was a child and grew up in front of worldwide audiences. Over the last year, rumors have run rampant that Warner Bros. is looking to create a new Harry Potter trilogy that would feature original cast members like Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. So far, Rowling has firmly dismissed any chance of that happening, but fans can dream of Radcliffe returning for a Cursed Child adaptation some day.
For now, it looks like they’ll have to hold tight to those dreams and keep themselves tided over with the new Fantastic Beasts franchise. The first installment premiered last winter with four more pictures slated to debut over the next several years.
