DC Comics and Quantum Mechanix are partnering to produce prints of the DC Comics Bombshells. The Bombshells debuted as a line of popular statues, designed by Ant Lucia. The Bombshell statues take iconic DC Comics heroines and villainesses – Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Supergirl, Catwoman and others – and reimagines them in the style of 1940s pin-up girls that were often painted onto the nose of World War II bomber planes. The statues proved popular enough for DC Comics to produce a line of variant covers based on the characters.Fans of the Bombshells will be able to buy art prints of them from Quantum Mechanix.”When we saw Ant Lucia’s artwork, we were completely blown away,” said QMx CEO Andy Gore. “Not just the retro styling, but the skill and creativity of the DC Comics Bombshells art make these pin-ups something any comic book fan would love to hang on their wall.”Each Bombshell will be on a museum quality 18″x24” art print and will cost $14.95. The first DC Comics Bombshells art prints should be available in Q2 2014 at comic, collector and specialty retail outlets, as well as through the Quantum Mechanix website at www.qmxonline.com.
