Cyborg is getting a massive upgrade at DC Comics.

Alongside his fellow Justice Leaguers, and even Lex Luthor, Victor Stone will receive a brand-new look heading into DC’s Divergence initiative this summer. As teased in DC’s preview of Cyborg #1, by Dave Walker and Ivan Reis, Cyborg will seemingly die, only to “reboot” into a far sleeker hero.
Cutting down on the robotic bulk and allowing more “Victor” to shine, the new look feels closer to a technological upgrade than just a costume tweak. DC is definitely emphasizing Cyborgs more organic features in the new look, complete with a set of robot toes.
As other Justice League members receive new costumes to better align with their television or movie counterparts, we can’t help but wonder if this new Cyborg is a sample of what we’ll see in next year’s Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. After all, we can’t imagine that Warner Bros. wants to bury Ray Fisher under too many nuts and bolts.
Cyborg #1 hits comic shops on July 22. Check out part of DC’s preview in the gallery below.
