Back in 2011, DC Comics flipped the comics industry on it’s head when it announced that it would be relaunching it’s entire line and starting with all new #1s. 52 to be exact. This May, some of those books reach their 52nd issue, and to celebrate DC Comics is homaging those issues by recreating their iconic first covers.

The New 52 launched the careers of creators like Scott Snyder, Francis Manapul & Cliff Chiang to new heights, introducing their work to a larger audience which set the industry on fire. Snyder’s Batman for example has on average sold over 100k since it’s debut. It’s the kind of run we rarely see in comics these days.
