Junkie XL to compose 20th Century Fox’s R-rated comic book movie, Deadpool!

Grammy-nominated composer Tom Holkenborg, better known as Junkie XL, is one of the hottest film composers working today. His career really took off in 2014 when he provided the scores for Zack Snyder’s 300: Rise of an Empire and Neil Burger’s Divergent. Just last year, he had the pleasure of working on the score for George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road.

Also, Junkie XL frequently collaborates with his longtime friend and mentor Hans Zimmer, who brought JXL in to work on additional material for The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel and will have him compose the Caped Crusader’s score throughout Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
