K9: Timequake sees K9 going up against Omega, the mad Time Lord. John Leeson will voice K9 in the film, which will be released in 2017.
K9 was created in the late ’70s era of Doctor Who. Intended to be a one-off character by creators Baker and Dave Martin, K9 stuck around until 1981. The character returned in 2006’s “Class Reunion,” along with Elizabeth Sladen as human companion Sarah Jane. K9 made a few apperances in the spinoff series The Sarah Jane Adventures, and in 2009 he got his own children’s series in Australia, simply titled K9.
Expect more announcements concerning the film in the coming months.
