Episode 2 is titled “Home.” Here’s the synopsis:
“Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) trains with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow). In King’s Landing, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) advises Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman). Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) demands good news, but has to make his own. At Castle Black, the Night’s Watch stands behind Thorne (Owen Teale). Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) proposes a plan, and Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide) entertains other proposals.”
This episode should be exciting for fans, as it will be the first time the Greyjoys and Bran Stark have appeared since Season 4.
The third episode of the season is titled “Oathbreaker.” Here’s the synopsis:
“Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift.”
This is an interesting synopsis to parse out. Dany meeting her future sounds like she arrives at Vaes Dothrak. Bran meeting the past sounds like he learns to use his special sight. Perhaps this is the episode where we’ll see the raid on the Tower of Joy?
It’s also worth noting that “oathbreaker” is a strong word in Westeros, as breaking an oath can be a crime. In the very first episode of the series, Ned Stark executed an oathbreaker who fled from the Night’s Watch. Many also consider Jaime “The Kingslayer” Lannister an oathbreaker for turning on his king while a member of the Kingsguard.
Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
