Gary Ross, who directed ‘Seabiscuit’, will rewrite the script for ‘Spider-Man 4’, according to Variety. The deal reunites Ross with star Tobey Maguire, who worked together on both ‘Seabiscuit’ and ‘Pleasantville.’A couple of interesting points on this news.First, it appears Ross is rewriting the script so he can direct a Lance Armstrong movie. Not exactly the inspiration the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise needs.Secondly, this script is on it’s THIRD screenwriter. The original was written by James Vanderbilt. It was then rewritten byDavid Lindsay-Abaire.Multiple writers doing rewrites usually equates to crap.Consider our expectations lowered.
