Guardians of the Galaxy post credits

Over the weekend, Comicbook.com reported on the fact that the early press screenings for Guardians of the Galaxy did not have an after the credits scene. As we noted in our report, just because there was no stinger in the press screenings didn’t necessarily mean that there wouldn’t be one added before the film was given a wide release in theaters.

With Guardians of the Galaxy holding a premiere tonight in Hollywood, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn took to Facebook to issue a clarification about what will happen during the Guardians of the Galaxy credits.

“One bit of business for those of you going to the premiere tonight: There WILL be a tag at the end of the credits on Guardians of the Galaxy, but it won’t be playing tonight, just as it hasn’t been playing on the press screenings. It’s something we’re saving for people who go see the movie on the first day in theaters around the world,” wrote Gunn.

The fact that the post-credits stinger has been removed for press screenings and premieres certainly suggests that it likely reveals something that will generate quite a bit of buzz.

Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled to be released at movie theaters in the United States on August 1, 2014.
