The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are going to be aliens, and now it looks like Huck Finn will be fighting ghosts and goblins or something along those lines. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount is planning to give the Mark Twain characters Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer a 21st century update.Paramount’s title for the movie is Huck, and the film will reportedly be produced by Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark. In the original Mark Twain story, Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer are adventurous teenage boys, who live in the 19th century. The two characters were introduced in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which was published in 1876.The exact storyline for Huck hasn’t been revealed, but supposedly there are supernatural elements to the script. The story is supposed to be a re-imagining just like Snow White and the Huntsman. Instead of teenagers, Finn and Sawyer will be portrayed as adults. Before getting to up in arms about this change to classic Mark Twain, it’s worth noting that Chernin and Clark are the same producers that were behind Rise of the Planet of the Apes. They did pretty well with that one, so Huck might turn out much better than it sounds.
