Jackman recently appeared on The Ellen Show and recounted a scenario where his son told an older girl his dad was Wolverine to get in good with her. His son, now fifteen, was twelve at the time.

“There was this one time a few years back, we were at the beach and he was talking with this girl and he was about twelve and the girl looked to be about fifteen,” Jackman started. “He starts walking over to me and he sort of ran ahead of this girl and the girl is walking and he’s sort running over to me and he says, ‘I told them you’re Wolverine! Just sign an autograph for them!’ I was like, ‘Am I a wingman for my son, now?’”

It doesn’t always go that way for the Aussie actor, though. His son sometimes gets tired of hearing about his dad’s Wolverine fame. “He had another friend over the other day, a new friend, and I was listening in and the friend was obviously enamored by Wolverine asking all these questions,” Jackman explained. “He finally piped up and said, ‘My dad is not tough. He’s not cool. He’s nothing like Wolverine so just get over it!’”

Whether or not Jackman appears as Wolverine in Deadpool or X-Men: Apocalypse is still unknown, however, his third Wolverine film and final effort with the claws is set for release March 3, 2017.

Jackman’s latest film, Eddie the Eagle, which he stars in alongside Kingsman: The Secret Service‘s Taron Egerton, hits theaters February 26.
