If fans of the Saga comics, have one thing to complain about, it’s the serious lack of toys and collectibles modeled after the story.

Written by Brian K. Vaughan, and illustrated by Fiona Staples, Saga has garnered an enormous following since it debuted in 2013. Its collective sales in that span top the other Image tentpole series, The Walking Dead, but Saga has seen signifiantly less material for collectors.

The Walking Dead does have the number one series on television adding to its sales numbers, and raising demand for toys, but Saga seems to have earned the right to more products than have been manufactured.

So far, many of the Saga collectibles that have been released have been exclusive to comic-cons and special events, and the newest piece will follow suit.

For this year’s Local Comic Shop Day, Image has announced the release of an exclusive statue based on of Saga‘s most popular characters, Lying Cat.

The statue stands at eight inches tall, and features the black and white design of Image’s most popular feline. The item will only be available through participating retailers on Local Comic Shop Day, and you may have to pay a pretty penny to get your hands on one.

Not only is the Lying Cat statue exclusive to the day, but an extremely limited run of the item was produced. How limited? Oh, just 300 units.

That’s right, only 300 of these figures were produced, and there won’t be any more. Each piece is also hand-numbered, and that is sure to raise the price even higher.

If you are a big enough fan of Saga though, the price probably won’t be able to drive you away from such a rare collectable. You’d better get in line, however, because these statues won’t be coming back.

In addition to Lying Cat, LCSD 2017 will be packed with other exclusive merchandise. DC Rebirth #1 is being released as a collector’s edition hardcover, Doctor Strange: The Oath (written by Saga creator Brian K. Vaughan) will debut as a limited print, a DC Comics Bombshells statue of Killer Frost will hit shelves, and much more!

Local Comic Shop Day 2017 will take place on November 19, and is recognized as the only event in the industry by, and for, retailers. For more details on the event, visit the LCSD Website, or reach out to your local comic shop to see if they’re participating.

Your local comic shop is where many of your favorite stories in comics found their audience, and the success of those shops helps to keep the comic book industry thriving.

Without these local retailers working as hard as they do, films like Captain America: Civil War and Suicide Squad never would have happened. It’s because of these shops that our industry is alive and well, so be sure to drop yours a line and show out for Local Comic Shop Day 2017.
