J.J. Abrams took on quite the task when he agreed to direct the next installment of the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens. MTV caught up with the director and asked how he’s handling the pressure, and the internet’s reaction to the first glimpse of footage, which was released over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still filming at Pinewood Studios in London. The film will be released December 18.
